Volunteer Information

We are looking for volunteers in a variety of interesting and different positions.

MARSHALS
Requirements: People who enjoy golf and are prepared to work on a tee, green or cross-walk all day. Preference given to those who volunteer for 4 days - Thursday - Sunday.
Duties - The marshal's duties are to control the crowd for the well being of the players.

ROVING MARSHALS
Requirements - Must be very fit - Must be four-day workers - Thursday - Sunday
Duties - Roving Marshals escort leading groups and high profile players.

AREA MARSHALS
Requirements - Need to be able to communicate with people, have a strong personality and know the course very well. Must be four-day workers - Thursday - Sunday.
Duties - Work alongside the Girl Fridays for the general well being of players, all volunteers and spectators.

GIRL FRIDAYS
Requirements - Must be fit and know the course layout. Must be four-day workers - Thursday - Sunday
Duties - To ensure the well being of the volunteers.

CADDY JACKETS
Requirements - Reliable, sensible people - not a very strenuous job. Thursday - Sunday
Duties - Issue and retrieve caddy bibs.

WARDROBE
Requirements - Reliable, sensible people - not a very strenuous job. Thursday - Sunday
Duties - Required to write details of clothing worn by players.

INFORMATION
Requirements - Responsible people. Thursday - Sunday
Duties - To answer any questions asked by the public.

MEDIA CENTRE
Leader Board Update, Base Radio operators - more information on request. Thursday - Sunday

RUNNER SCORE SERVICE
Requirements - Must be fit. Must be four-day workers - Thursday - Sunday
Duties - To pick up score cards from Scorers Hut and take to the Media Centre.

WALKER SCORERS
Requirements - Must be fit and know golf including the method of scoring. Thursday - Sunday
Duties - to keep the score and statistics sheets for the players in each allocated group.

CARRY BOARDS
Requirements - Fit young people- Must be four-day workers - Thursday - Sunday
Duties - to carry board and numbers for 18 holes and change the board as required.

LEADER BOARDS
Requirements - Responsible people. Must be four-day workers - Thursday - Sunday
Duties - to record the progressive scores of the players on the Leader Boards.

CORPORATE SECURITY
Requirement - Well presented ladies with appropriate personality. Thursday - Sunday
Duties - Check credentials of people entering corporate stands.

PLAYERS' LOUNGE
Requirements - Young people with personality to look after the Players Lounge. Thursday - Sunday
Duties - Check credentials of players entering the Players Lounge.

COURTESY CAR DRIVERS
Requirements - Drivers must have a current clean license and be 25 years or more. Monday - Sunday
Duties - to pick up or deliver players and officials from airports, accommodation, to and from the course etc.

BUS DRIVERS
Requirements - Drivers must have a current clean bus driver's license and be 25 years or more. Thursday - Sunday (some required Monday - Sunday)
Duties - to transport volunteers from Car Park to course and pick up players from accommodation to course.

CROWD CONTROL
Requirements - People with personality. Thursday - Sunday.
Duties - To 'Meet and Greet' the public when they arrive off buses in the morning and assist with crowd control in the afternoon.

DRIVING RANGE
Requirements - fit young people. Monday - Sunday.
Duties - To organise practice balls for the players and pick up same.

WATER ON TEES
Requirements - fit, reliable young people. Involves some lifting. Monday - Sunday.
Duties - to ensure water and drinks are provided on all tees.

PULL DOWN
Requirements - very fit young men for the Sunday only. (12 noon - late)
Duties - to pull down the stands, ropes etc. at the completion of play.

VOLUNTEERS ARE SUPPLIED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • An event shirt and hat or cap (Please wear white shorts, skirts, slacks etc)
  • A lunch pack and drinks are provided each day they work
  • One Volunteer Pass and Complimentary Any One Day Pass (min 4 Days)
  • A BBQ on the final day (Sunday) at completion of play
  • An Appreciation Day with a complimentary game of golf on the course (date tba) for those volunteers who work 4 days or more.
